Regular check-ups
It’s important to visit a dentist every six to nine months to keep dental problems at bay. During a check-up at High Street Dental Clinic, we are able to detect any signs of decay or gum disease before they have chance to worsen. This will help to avoid potentially expensive dental treatment further down the line and ensure your teeth are kept in perfect condition.
At each check-up we will thoroughly examine your teeth and gums, invite you to discuss any problems you’ve had since your last visit, provide advice on diet, alcohol consumption and smoking and give you tips on how to optimise your teeth-cleaning habits. If we do discover a cavity, we will arrange an appointment to place a white filling and discuss the treatment with you in full detail.

Placing a white filling
White fillings are an excellent way to fill cavities and keep your tooth protected. To ensure the filling is totally invisible when you smile, we will choose the shade of composite that is closest to your natural tooth colour. The mouldable material means we can shape it to restore any missing tooth structure. The filling can be bonded directly onto your tooth and it sets straight away, so you’ll be able to eat and drink as normal as soon as the procedure is complete.
