Dentures to restore your smile - High Street Dental Clinic. in Bristol Do you struggle to enjoy your favourite foods due to missing teeth? Has your confidence suffered as a result of gaps in your smile? If so, High Street Dental Clinic could have the perfect solution for you. Dentures are removable restorations used as a replacement for missing teeth. We only use the most modern, natural looking dentures and our restorations look and feel just like natural teeth.

Losing teeth can have a detrimental effect on self-esteem and can make chewing certain foods very difficult. Not only that, our teeth give structure to our cheeks, so losing teeth can often make us appear older than we are as it causes the skin to sag.

What are dentures made of?

Our dentures are usually constructed from acrylic resins. These dentures tend to be made with very strong metal inserts to make sure they last a long time. Thanks to modern advances in the field of cosmetic dentistry, there is now a variety of cosmetic denture materials available to provide a natural looking solution to missing teeth.

Complete and partial dentures

At High Street Dental Clinic, we offer two types of denture. We use complete dentures for patients who need to replace an entire arch of teeth and partial dentures for those who have a smaller number of missing teeth.

Advantages of dentures

  • These dentures can provide an excellent and affordable restoration, with superb natural appearance
  • They are also good for restoring the bite, function, health and appearance of the smile when there has been multiple tooth loss
  • They can provide a very satisfactory temporary or long term restoration, especially in conjunction with dental implant in Bristol support or precision attachments, magnets or anchors on remaining support teeth, which enhance their retention and comfort (and your confidence!)

For people who already wear some form of denture and are experiencing discomfort or looseness, we can diagnose and resolve these issues in most instances.

Immediate dentures

In some cases, if the remaining teeth are in poor condition, they may need to be extracted before a denture is placed. The gums will then need time to heal before the final denture is fitted. If this is the case for you, we will place an immediate temporary denture so that you can enjoy a natural looking smile as soon as possible.

During the healing process, which can take around three months, immediate dentures can easily be modified. However, one of the biggest benefits of dentures is that they rarely require any extra work aside from dental impressions.
